Pretty bird

Well there's not often a dull moment here… Fox & Lark is joined by a Hawk!  Dearest half over at Marmot Audio has always had a keen interest in birds of prey so has finally taken the plunge and put a booted foot on the rung to become a fully 'fledged' (sorry couldn't resist) falconer.

There's lots of things to consider and we're very lucky to live where we do, we have space and access to land where we are permitted to fly with the professional falconer who lives in the village and who is so lovely and has been so helpful.

The bird is adorable, patient, and gentle even considering her very pointy sharp toes!  So here you go, meet…the hawk (we've not named her yet!)….

Paper Love!

I couldn't resist using my double-sided gift wrap to make this super cute heart garland spotted on Pinterest.  No unsightly unprinted parts!  I love pattern too much for that!

You can view the cute little picture tutorial  here and if you want to make your own just like this one, you can order the gift wrap from: www.foxandlark.co.uk.

A birdy gift!

Look what arrived at the weekend!  Noisy husband over at Marmot Audio is also an enthusiastic beginner falconer.  I had to buy us each one of these gorgeous mugs to remind us of our trip to Scotland a few years ago where we went walking with hawks and a magnificent eggl...

www.arthousemeath.com

I've adored Arthouse Meath ever since seeing their stand at Spring Fair at the beginning of this year.  I heartily encourage everyone to visit their website and like them on Facebook. There are so many inspiringly talented artists over there and I admire the wonderful work that they do!

A varied studio...

Having a home studio is a real joy this unusually hot week.  I'm able to work where the temperature is kindest and I love the dappled shade under our Lilac tree.  My assistant appears to be snoozing on the job however!

I've also noticed a new visitor to my garden.  A brilliant coral rose that I haven't planted and has never flowered before!  Our garden continually surprises me.

Thornbridge Hall Charity Garden Party

On Sunday 7th July we'll be supporting some good causes at the Thornbridge Hall Annual Charity Garden Party.  What a stunning place to visit!

We'd love it if you came along to say hello.  We'll also be selling a selection of our double sided gift wrap, ribbons, notebooks and cushions.  Come and find us in the beautiful Carriage House which will be oh so handy should the weather prove to be truly British!

There will be all sorts of artisan food sellers, designers, makers and plenty of activities to keep even the fidgetiest of small family members occupied and by the end of the day exhausted!

Champers anyone?...hee hee!

Well following on from Royal Ascot in the news, didn't I just have the nicest possible start to the week!  I was sent champagne!  Not a bottle but the prettiest picture of one I've ever seen (a good job too as work tends to pile up if you get tipsy in your studio!).  Our lovely customer Jo of More Pretty Things sent over these sweet pictures of how she has expertly used our double sided wrapping paper to great effect!  Thanks so much Jo and chin-chin! x
